Details: Mobo model Aorus B550 Pro, GPU Aorus 6800xt, CPU Ryzen 7 5800x, PSU Corsair RM850x, RAM Corsiar Vengenace pro 3200MHZ, SSD Western Digital 1TB M.2. Hello everyone, my PC has been experiencing problems lately. Games are stuttering and all the GPUs I purchased were returned for defects, which after testing were also faulty. When I sent the motherboard back, it was found to be faulty due to a defective power chip and was repaired. After the PC was returned, it ran for about eight hours before entering sleep mode. When I tried to turn it back on, the system wouldn’t respond and emitted beep codes. I decided to flash the BIOS to the latest version, which resolved the issue—initially it sounded like a GPU error from the long and short beeps. I then sent it back to Gigabyte with the beep codes, which have recently changed to "AMI." This indicates a memory failure, possibly in the RAM. A friend brought along a working RAM stick and a new PSU for testing, but even with everything connected, the same beep code appeared. The fans spun and LEDs lit, but nothing further happened. I suspect the CPU might be the cause, especially since other components checked out. If it isn’t faulty, returning it could be costly. I’m unsure if the motherboard, GPU, RAM, or PSU is at fault. Could it be the CPU triggering these memory codes? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Immerse the socket and CPU in 99% IPA, spray it thoroughly, then let it air dry for a minimum of four hours. A day is recommended.

It looks like you've thoroughly checked and swapped every other component. The next step is to obtain another compatible, verified CPU and install it in your PC without further modifications.

The socket appears completely fine, yet during gigabyte's testing of the board for roughly 14 hours, it would have failed. It seems likely they encountered issues then.

The main challenge is locating a suitable board or CPU. I’ve asked someone, but it’s unclear if we’ll succeed. It seems the issue might be with the CPU itself; if so, AMD could demand around £50 for a return, which is quite concerning.

Do you know any stores nearby that build PCs from scratch? Such shops often have entry-level chips they can use for testing. A £50 price tag is still just a quarter of the cost of the cheapest Ryzen CPU available on Amazon UK today.

He’s probably lying about everything. I remember him saying he fixed everything except the board, but I’m not sure if he actually tested the CPU.

It seems the issue appears simple at first glance but might be more complex underneath. I’ve noticed that even clean-looking mobile ports often stop working, and flushing them with IPA usually resolves the problem. Also, RAM-related concerns could be contributing to the situation.
