I purchased a Lexar 16GB DDR4-3200MHZ CL22 LD4AS016G-B3200GSST laptop RAM.
My laptop model is a Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3-15IMH05, Type 81Y4.
I use the device for mobile programming with Android Emulator, frequent browsing, and some games like Cod Warzone and Rocket League.
After installing the Lexar RAM and turning on the laptop, I tested its capacity by opening multiple tabs in Google until it reached full capacity.
When I powered off the laptop, I felt the RAM was extremely hot, unlike my previous RAM which had identical specs but a different manufacturer and smaller size (8GB).
After closing the laptop's back panel for another test, I still felt intense heat with my hand.
I believe this could be dangerous over time and might affect the entire laptop. Since there’s no temperature sensor, I can’t provide an exact reading.
My options are:
Solution 1: Ignore the overheating concern and buy a second Lexar RAM to reach 32GB.
Solution 2: Sell the current Lexar and purchase two Crucial RAM sticks.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Please include the make, model and SKU for your laptop.
When I closed the laptop's back panel and decided to do the same test, I felt it very hot with my hand.
So long as you haven't gone beyond the max supported capacity for ram, you should be fine. On a side note, opening multiple tabs in Google Chrome isn't exactly a reliable test.
I think it will be dangerous for it and for the entire laptop in the long run.
What do you tax the laptop with on a daily basis?

My laptop model is Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3-15IMH05 Laptop - Type 81Y4.
Check if this matches your device and consider the maximum RAM it can support.
