The question screen disappears following the Intel UHD Graphics 630 update.
Hello,
I’m dealing with a Lenovo ThinkStation P340 running Windows 10. After formatting and installing a fresh Windows, the screen turns black within four minutes of connecting to the internet. After downloading and reinstalling the "UHD Graphics 630" graphics drivers from Intel, the issue persists—screen goes black even without a connection. I ran a .bat file to start sleep mode, but the problem continues. Any suggestions?
Hello, Lutfij. Thank you for your time.
Thinkstation P340 Tiny is working well.
BIOS version: M2WKT46K.
Driver versions:
- Intel® Graphics Driver 31.0.101.2135 for 7th-10th Gen
- Intel® Graphics Driver 31.0.101.2115 for 6th-10th Gen
I previously obtained two Windows 10 updates via torrent. I installed them on three different computers, and for months there were no issues. Problems began after attempting to create a sleep script using a single executable. I re-installed both operating systems, but the issue remained; the OS itself wasn’t the cause. When I installed the same OS on another similar machine, the sleep function worked properly and the screen never went black.
Occasions when the system freezes into an irreversible black screen:
1. A fresh Windows installation occurred. Four minutes after connecting to the internet and without further action, the mouse cursor displayed a charging icon for a brief moment before the screen went dark (this appears to happen during automatic updates). If I avoid internet access, the installation proceeds without issues.
2. After downloading the Lenovo "System Update" and applying the graphic driver update "Intel Graphics Driver - 10 (64)" version 31.0.101.2115, the system froze. Other drivers worked fine.
I also updated the BIOS using a Lenovo app.
Edit:
The processor is an Intel ® Core i7-10700t CPU @2.00 GHz, 1992 MHz, 8 cores.
Following a black screen incident, the Troubleshoot mode occasionally repaired it, but afterward a pop-up appeared on the desktop: "We removed some recently installed updates to recover your device from startup failure."
Most of the time, the Troubleshoot failed and showed: "Startup Repair couldn't repair your PC [file path]."
In such cases, I used the System Restore option to restore the system.
