The question screen becomes dark when installing GPU drivers.
Hello.
Today I attempted a clean removal of my RX 5700 XT drivers using DDU because I encountered unexpected system crashes while playing a certain game. I suspected the drivers might be damaged, so I entered safe mode and removed them, restarted the computer, and during the GPU driver installation my screen went black at around 28%. I waited about an hour before forcing a shutdown. After rebooting, the issue persisted—my PC displayed a message indicating problems and prompting a restart. I tried booting in safe mode with or without the connection, but the problem repeated. Eventually, my PC showed a message saying something in system32 was corrupted. I ran /sfc scannow through CMD on the repair screen, but it didn’t fix anything. I managed to get into safe mode after several tries, though I’m still unsure what’s wrong. I’ve reinstalled the GPU drivers before and never had issues, so I’m not sure if Windows needs reinstalling or if the GPU itself is faulty. Any advice would be appreciated.
GPU shows up in the device manager during safe mode, yet it's missing from the task manager. However, I'm unable to start my PC normally because it keeps displaying a black screen.

I encountered a sudden system crash while playing a particular game. Could you tell me which game this was and where you obtained the installer?
During the driver setup, I manually installed the newest driver from AMD's support site using an elevated command—right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator?
Can you boot into Safe Mode again? If possible, use GPU-Z to check if any fields display as 0.
CPU model is Ryzen 5 3600, paired with AMD Wraith Stealth cooler. The motherboard is B450m pro R2.0. RAM configuration is 16GB T-FORCE DDR4 at 3200Mhz. Storage includes a 250gb NVMe SSD (model MTFDDAV256TBN) and a 500GB HDD. The GPU is an RX 5700 XT with 8GB of memory. Power supply is a 650w unit. The case features Hybrok Shadow glass with ARGB color options. Operating system is Windows 11 64-bit. The monitor is an older 60Hz 1080p display, though its exact name is unclear. This setup runs an old PS3 game—specifically UFC 3 undisputed. The installer was obtained via RPCS3 (PS3 emulator). I installed it manually through the driver download from AMD’s support site, using administrator privileges. I attempted to run the emulator but experienced crashes. I also tried manually downloading a driver from AMD’s website for my Adrenalin GPU (version 24.12.1) and used the AMD auto-detect tool without success. I’m currently in Safe Mode, but the system reports an error when launching. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
