The question regarding connecting a PlayStation 3 controller to an Acer monitor is unclear.
My Acer computer does not recognize the PS3 controller; it doesn't show up at all, even when connected. It previously functioned correctly, but after a factory reset of my computer, I’ve attempted various drivers (including what I believe is called “betterDS3” and an SCP toolkit).
The device should appear on the controller display upon USB connection, though on my systems it occasionally presented as a PlayStation controller, a standard controller, or even an Xbox controller. Following SCP completion, it transfers as an Xbox One and is then recognized that way by devices. I suspect you’ve explored different USB ports…are all entries visible within device manager, with no driver errors or yellow warning symbols?
The device indicates a PlayStation controller and upon attempting connection, a passcode is requested.
Does one possess a restore function upon a Dualshock controller? Would attempting such a feature be beneficial?
There’s a designated choice button, the PlayStation symbol button, and an initiate button.
The PlayStation support documentation regarding DualShock 3 sixaxis controllers did not prove useful.
