Hello Everyone, I restored my PC around 2018 and recently encountered an issue for about a week. Occasionally, when launching specific games, all my monitors would turn black while the system remained powered on with fans running and RGB lights active. I had to restart the case to escape this unusual condition. This seems to occur unexpectedly during most of my gaming sessions. The PC functions normally when using Edge or watching YouTube videos during Discord calls.
Interestingly, Minecraft generally works well, except for Valorant, It takes two, and DaVinci Resolve, where the black screen appears randomly a few minutes after playing or immediately at startup.
I've tried several solutions:
- Updated BIOS and drivers on MB
- Installed new GPU drivers
- Ensured all software was up to date
- Disabled gaming mode
- Experimented with various power plans
- Turned off the automatic power-off in Advanced Power Settings
- Disconnected most USB devices
- Disabled automatic restart after crashes to check for error codes
The PC case is clean and dust-free, so airflow isn’t likely the cause. I’ve also unplugged most of my USB devices and disabled the automatic restart feature to see if it triggers any errors.
Here are my specifications:
- All components are around 5 years old, except for accessories and the AIO cooler
- AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- B450 Tomahawk graphics card
- 32 GB of RAM (mix of Corsair Vengeance and other types)
- GeForce RTX 2070 GAMING Z 8 GB
- Corsair CX750M Bronze 80
- Windows 10
- Fractal Design Meshify C
- NZXT Kraken Z63
- LG UltraGear 24GL600F-B and two additional displays
I also have accessories such as WaveXLR, ShureSM7B, StreamDeck, etc.

Combining RAM might cause problems. Consider removing DIMMs until only matching pairs remain, then turn off any XMP overclock settings and check for improved stability.
The Corsair CX750M Bronze 80 isn't a Tier A power supply and could become outdated after five years. Do you have a more reliable PSU to consider?
I don’t have a better PSU and I’m planning to keep the Corsair Vengeence running while removing the other RAM. I’m considering the PSU since the system has always worked well for years, or maybe the RAM is the issue, but the combination of Minecraft with mods seems more demanding than others. If things get worse, I might have to buy a new PSU from Amazon and test it there.
