In the year 2500, mankind has mastered faster-than-light travel and uncovered other intelligent beings across the galaxy. Our search led us to the discovery of the Black Marker on a barren world—distinct from Earth. An unidentified interstellar species encounters humanity, trying to take over a human settlement. Out of fear, they perceive the aliens as dangerous. In truth, these beings were fleeing a catastrophic deluge caused by one of the Halos. This new civilization is far more advanced than ours. A protracted struggle unfolds over nearly a century, with alliances forming between rival species. As casualties mount, the Sovereign initiates operations to access the Citadel and retrieve the remaining Reapers.

First Contact with the Flood and Necromorphs: After a century of strife, the aggressive alien enemies begin to weaken. Just before total collapse, a derelict ship crashes near a settlement housing the Black Marker. Humans discover a Brethen Moon on their colony that wasn’t cataloged. They prepare for the unknown.

Sovereign and Harbinger: A massive fleet of Reapers descends upon multiple worlds. On one planet, they encounter the Flood, having seized control and birthing a Gravemind. On another world, a lone Reaper stumbles upon the Necromorphs. Each faction holds unique strengths—Reapers can commandeer vessels to spread their influence, while Floods can release spores that infect Husk or Collectors. Necromorphs wield the Brethen Moons, powerful tools capable of overwhelming entire fleets if they land on a planet. They also have the ability to corrupt Reapers internally, turning them against their own kind. Should either the Flood or Necromorphs infiltrate a Reaper, they could sabotage and destroy the Reapers from within. The Reapers boast formidable laser weapons and can transform living beings into Husk or reprogram them as Collectors.

When you understand nothing can move faster than light, it also means the human body can't handle all those intense Gs.
