I have a problem where my computer just stops working completely and won't restart unless I open the case to fix it. I tried changing the memory (ram), but that fixed nothing because one of those slots works while the other doesn't. This might mean a bad slot, but most times when this happens, I remove the cpu chip and put it back in, which makes me wait a good bit before freezing again. The cpu isn't getting too hot (it's around 70 degrees Celsius) and everything else seems fine. This only happens with two ram sticks connected; one stick is okay but two make it freeze. There are no bent pins on the socket either. UPDATE: It happened again right now, and when I turn it on, it freezes immediately at the BIOS screen or during the Windows login screen.

what are all the specs for this whole thing, like what brand and model do they have for the power supply?

CPU is E3 1270 V6, GPU is RX 570, motherboard is H110M-R, power supply is FSP600-80PSA (used for six months), memory has 4GB on the Crucial and 8GB on Samsung.

Putting RAM in a mix is usually bad because it can slow down things and cause problems like crashes or data loss, so don't do it.

But it won't crash your computer; it just makes it run slower, like a lower speed setting on the CPU instead of going full blast.

still doesn't work even if I mix up the RAM. Mixing it never really helps. That's why I've had this problem before, with my old AM3+ setup. On Windows, it would freeze and crash all the time or cause weird underloading issues. I remember that so well!

So I tried it out and found that the second RAM sticks make my computer crash and stop working. The first one works okay though. So do I have a bad RAM stick, or is this a CPU issue?

can you swap out your current board for a Ram and use it to test something else?

I don't have any more boards or RAM left to use.
