Approximately three days ago, several of my video games began experiencing significantly extended loading times. Other programs – including Chrome, Discord, and game launchers (Steam, Battle.net, Origins) – are unaffected by this issue.

I’ve recently updated my graphics drivers and Windows 10 (which, in fact, may have exacerbated the problem), but now all of my games are loading environments at a remarkably slow pace. For instance, in World of Warcraft, I used to quickly enter zones, but now it takes up to five minutes simply to load a dungeon or zone, and even character selection can take upwards of five minutes. Similarly, Apex Legends sometimes loads with a black screen for ten minutes before finally presenting a visually problematic, low-polygon lobby. I’m uncertain about the root cause of this issue. Furthermore, my CPU doesn't exhibit any significant spikes in temperature, and I’ve already attempted driver updates, completely uninstalling and reinstalling my graphics drivers, performing an sfc scan (which removed some corrupted files), and yet the problem persists.

I’ve reinstalled both games, along with numerous non-game applications, which don't share the same difficulties. I’m genuinely puzzled as to what triggered this issue, which began with World of Warcraft approximately three or four days ago when everything was operating flawlessly. Below are my system specifications, as mentioned previously; before this issue arose, I had no problems at all. It doesn’t appear to be related to my CPU or any other component, as nothing is overheating.

I’m currently seeking a solution and am presently watching YouTube/Twitch while I investigate potential fixes.

CPU: i5 7400 3.0 GHz 4 core
RAM: 16 GB Gskill Ripjaw
PSU: SeaSonic S12II 520 W 80+ Bronze
GPU: Radeon RX 560
MB: AROCK B250M-HDV

Edit: I attempted to launch Overwatch to determine if the issue was limited to Apex and World of Warcraft, but Overwatch also exhibits slow loading times and occasional unresponsive behavior.

Edit 2: World of Warcraft appears to be functioning normally again, but Overwatch and Apex Legends continue to load slowly or encounter problems. This is strange.

Edit 3: I suspect that Apex Legends might be causing issues with other games; World of Warcraft was running without problems, so I launched Apex Legends, then switched back to World of Warcraft. Now, World of Warcraft has reverted to its problematic state.

Removed Apex Legends and Origins; World of Warcraft appears stable, though specific elements like spell effects and non-player characters still load slowly, and I frequently experience a 5-to-10 second pause when interacting with objects. I’ve exhausted all troubleshooting methods so far.

Removing my external hard drive has significantly slowed down the loading times of programs like Chrome, Discord, and Blizzard. Previously, a webpage would load in approximately 2-3 seconds, but now it often takes between 30 seconds and 3 minutes to fully display. Do you have any recommendations?
