try to enable provisioning, in disk management make some unallocated space at the end of C partition
right click on C: volume and pick "shrink volume", shrink it by 5% ~ 10% to make some free unallocated space, that should help with drive hiccups when it looking for free blocks

if that wont help and drive would be still freezing, consider throwing drive away

I've been reviewing each occurrence and it consistently indicates that the task manager reports minimal activity except for a queue length reaching 50, which remains unchanged. Whenever this occurs again, I'll take a screenshot and submit it here.
Edit: the reduction in partition size triggered the error, allowing me to capture this. Please note the file named Harddiskvolume3 corresponds to the shrinking operation.

after completing the defragmenting/trimming process, it will indicate the potential reduction in size (based on fragmentation).

The process has now concluded with no improvements detected, so I'll continue testing it on another machine.
Edit: A second trial was done on a different device... definitely a rip drive.
Any suggestions for 2TB M.2 options?

Unplug your "wifi/ network" cable and observe if the issue resolves. It might be due to an app transmitting data from your drive, such as Windows applications or even malware. Try updating your antivirus, then disconnect the PC from the internet and run the antivirus scan. Check if it detects anything and removes it. See if your system runs smoother afterward. I experienced a similar problem a few months ago. I was using a secure browser when an app opened Edge, which introduced malware or a virus. I had to unplug and scan it, and everything was resolved—luckily it was my backup computer, so no important data was lost. Also, visit https://uk.crucial.com/support/storage-executive for the SSD drive tool, which can test your drive for errors and more.

I already had it installed with the newest drivers. I disconnected it before, but the issue persists even with the latest antivirus updates.

did you install the essential app (linked in the previous post)? it will inform you about the drive's condition and any problems.
you might want to try "con/alt/del" and examine the resources to see what is consuming all its resources.

That's exactly where I began. Both their own tools, CrystalDiscInfo and Victoria, demonstrated all the SMART values as solid, and both the resource monitor and task manager indicated nothing was actually utilizing them.
