Solved, what I did to work around it was update the BIOS so I could use 8GB dimms and bought two. They only accept 16GB RAM when used in dual channel, which is fine but something seems off. Also, I lost the option to use the multiplier for overclocking—it’s frustrating. But the old PC still works. Thanks everyone for your input.
