I see many people picked Ryzen, especially those with unlocked chipsets, thinking it offers great value. During research I found a solid option—the ASUS TUF Gaming Plus X570—and all reviews praised its durability and performance. I trusted that and purchased it, expecting good value. However, the experience didn’t meet expectations. My Z270 Prime-A model already had issues, but this new board added more complications. It wasn’t worth the cost. To give background, my previous board struggled with overclocking due to BIOS limitations, even though it claimed dual USB 3.1 support. The design remained consistent from the Z270—same fonts, layout, and controls—but the effects in Aura Creator were limited to a short timer, forcing manual adjustments. When the timer expired, all RGB faded and restarted, which confused me. I needed a proper timer system, but it wasn’t there. The chipset cooling fan was positioned right behind my GPU, causing heat issues. The $170 price tag felt excessive given the power delivery options available for Ryzen chips. Many others have already replaced this board, so I’m eager to switch to something more reliable. I wouldn’t suggest this motherboard unless you’re willing to rely on biased reviews. Not true. It's not the board's fault you don't understand that one header = two ports. You bought an X570 board that has lots of extra connectivity most gamers will never use and now you're complaining about it? if it had fewer SATA ports people would criticize that as a weakness compared to its competitors. SATA ports you never use don't hurt you. Who the hell cares? As is the case with every Asus board. Just as every MSI board you'll need Dragon Center, every ASRock board you'll need Polychrome, etc. RGB software sucks but there's nothing uniquely sucky about it on this board. See above. Most people think the worst RGB software is the one they used most recently. Sounds like a short or something not connected right, IE a mistake you made or a fault possibly with the case or PSU. This is where the chipset cooling fan is on every X570 board, basically... because that's where the chipset is. The chipset fan is probably unnecessary anyway, and its presence has been a point of criticism on X570 boards in general. Again, not a unique flaw of this board. Again, complaining about extra features that don't hurt you if you never use them. Some people still like to have PS/2 for troubleshooting. Basically all ATX X570 boards and many B550 boards have the extra 4-pin. You'll never need to use it unless you're LN2 overclocking, and again, it's presence if you don't use it does not harm you in any way. All in all, a ludicrous post. A combination of complaining about things which are not problems, complaining about things which are common to the entire platform, and complaints based on complete ignorance.
Just wanted to voice my disapproval of the ASUS Armory Crate. That really hits the wrong notes!
the box lists two usb 3.1 mid boards and i've already attempted overclocking in bios without success. i've assembled several computers, and this one seems to work well despite some extra features adding cost. the 4000d airflow is great, but the front panel lacks a usb type c connector unlike many prime and b550 boards. space for an 8-drive setup is limited, which is typical for most consumer builds. until you've used aura creator, you'll see how poor it is—this software isn't worth it, and custom lighting requires it.

B550 usually lacks this feature, except for a few MSI ITX boards that seem to work around it. Most X570 models include it, though some Gigabyte variants might require a bigger investment. Concerns about noisy or failing chipset fans during the X570 launch were common, but I haven’t seen anyone face such issues. They’re just part of the setup.
