I increased the voltage but the issue persisted. I received a BSOD followed by a BIOS reset.

Understanding your processor model and other hardware details helps identify the issue—your CPU might not support overclocking beyond 4 GHz, and temperature could also play a role. Edited April 25, 2022 by An0maly_76 Updated with additional information

Typically, most CPUs don’t come with a guaranteed overclocking option and aren’t meant to exceed their rated performance. However, since the specific CPU isn’t known, it’s difficult to assess how much your target might stretch.

Based on the CPU generation, Ryzen 1 and 2 models won't reach 4.1 unless you adjust settings properly.

It's late, but I didn't focus much. You have a Ryzen 5 3600, a 650W PSU, an RX 590 GPU, and a Gigabyte B450 Elite M.

Multiple iterations of this board exist with uncertain details. If the board lacks substantial VRM cooling (typical for B450 models), that is likely your primary concern. NOTE: This suggests 4.2 is the upper limit possible. In most cases, you're probably in a favorable range, earning around 4.1. Edited April 25, 2022 by An0maly_76 Updated with additional details
