The processor runs less efficiently following the thermal paste adjustment.
Hello everyone, I've been using a prebuilt ASUS ROG Strix G15CF for a year now. Recently, I changed the thermal paste two days ago after experiencing high temperatures during gameplay. The temperatures have improved, but my system is running much slower during startup. I'm facing some unusual issues: the PC, keyboard, and mouse lights activate simultaneously, followed by the mouse and keyboard shutting off for several seconds before turning back on. Additionally, I see a bright white light on the motherboard during boot and a rapid red/orange flash when power is switched on. I've checked the CPU pins for damage, but everything seems intact. I don’t have funds to take my machine to a shop in Switzerland, and I’m worried about potential damage. Could anyone share any advice or solutions? Thanks in advance!
Refer to your motherboard's manual to understand the meaning of those lights.
The red light is lit on the CPU, the orange one appears on the DRAM or VGA (I remember, we'll clarify soon), and the white one is on the boot light. Both red and orange flash for about a second when I power on my PC, while the white stays on until I restart it.
