specs : cpu : i3 12100f graphics card : rtx 3050 zotac motherboard : asrock b760m pro rs ddr4 psu : cooler master g600 gold ram : klevv cras x 3600mhz cl18 _ 2 x 16Gb system crashes and reboot after playing games like The last of us and cyberpunk the ram sticks are in a2 b2 slots, i put it into a1 b3 slots, it was fine for an hour until it crashed and rebooted again i tried everything : clean gpu driver uninstall and installing the latest driver , checking ram health with memtest 86 and there was no problem i tested single sticks in a1 b2 a2 b2 slots one at a time and there was no crashing i even put to sticks in a1 a2 and then b1 b2 slots . apparently it only crashes in dual channel mode then i replaced ram with 2 × 8gb corsair vengance 3200mhz cl16 and enabled xmp and there were no crashes so i thought maybe the xmp is the issue or the cpu can't handle 3600 mhz on klevv ram so i tested it at 2133 mhz and 3200mhz but it still crashes! does anyone know what is the problem with my pc? I verified the list and confirmed the RAM is compatible! Could there be another issue?
There are many potential issues to consider. The main challenge is tracking down all possible problems. We can likely ignore pin/pad damage or incorrect RAM installation since you adjusted the RAM and another brand functions. The motherboard might not be responding well (unlikely given its QVL status), CPU placement could be an issue (also unlikely with working RAM), or it might be software-related. Do you have a spare drive to install a fresh operating system for testing?
I haven't tried it with MemTest86. From what you described, your ASRock motherboard has an XMP profile that's a bit unusual, and the RAM is set to 3200 CL16 timing. You might find it useful to manually adjust the RAM speed to see if it improves stability.
It could depend on your configuration, such as timing settings and other parameters. I'm not an expert yet and have only set my RAM to XMP so far; I might switch to manual tuning later if I have more time. I’m surprised it isn’t showing any problems and it doesn’t POST, which makes it seem like a Windows issue—did adjusting the frequency at 2133 help you?
I reviewed the AsRock motherboard page once more and noticed the RAM wasn’t listed. The board doesn’t support the CPU, so I swapped the RAM on the system. Now everything runs smoothly. I own an MSI B760M-A DDR4 Wi-Fi motherboard, and I checked its specifications for memory levels. The MSI board supports it, but AsRock doesn’t, which is confusing. Thanks for your help!
