Hello everyone, I recently changed from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D. It’s worth mentioning that my first upgrade was from a 3600 with an RTX 3070 to a 5800X3D and a 7900 XT, running stress tests using Prime95 and Furmark on a 750W power supply. The machine shut down right away, so I upgraded to a 1000W PSU and it no longer happens. Both units are working properly together (could this have caused the problem due to CPU or motherboard issues?). On idle, the 3600 stays around 35°C, but the 5800X3D runs between 65-70°C. I’ve checked forums and Reddit—most people say these temperatures are excessive. They suggest aiming for 30-40°C during idle (with Discord, Steam, HWiNFO open). I’ve tried several fixes: turned off A-XMP in BIOS, reset CMOS, updated BIOS, swapped out the Kryosheet, changed coolers from quiet to DeepCool Assassin IV, and used thermal paste. Nothing has affected the temps, and I’m still confused. Here are my details: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D (32GB, 4x8GB DDR4 @3200, A-XMP enabled), MSI B450 Tomahawk (latest BIOS), AMD 7900 XT with Corsair RM1000E 1000W PSU, monitoring via HWiNFO and Tctl. I’m open to advice—anyone have tips? Also, I haven’t reinstalled Windows yet, but I’m curious if that would help.

Your temperatures are within normal ranges because the system isn't idling. What do load temperatures mean? Are you seeing throttling, or are there performance problems?

Running Cinebench 2024 with multiple programs causes high temperatures, reaching up to 83°C. The maximum temperature for this chip is around 90°C. Having three applications open at once typically results in a temperature of about 70°C.

All of those are normal. If you aren't experiencing performance issues, don't worry about it.

The X3D operates at a higher temperature compared to other components, which is typical.

Consider adjusting the negative PBO offset to reduce temperatures.
