Divide the boot drive into sections so Windows stays on its own partition while keeping other files safe. After that, clear the designated partition during the installation process and start from scratch.

That sounds extremely unpleasant. I'm sorry to hear that.

It would be better to transfer all crucial files to an external hard drive. This makes it simpler to erase the incorrect partition if you're not familiar with the process.

You can either create the partition yourself and transfer the OS files manually, or use built-in tools to automate the process. There are options available to simplify the task.

Launch "Computer Management," go to "Disk Management." Select your main drive, click "Shrink partition," reduce its size to roughly 50GB or the smallest allowed, then empty the space and create a fresh partition. Transfer all non-essential files there, continuing until the system drive reaches the desired size.

You can relocate user data folders to a secondary partition as well, such as Desktop, Documents, Movies, Pictures, Downloads. Access your user profile folder—something like "C:\Users[Your name]"—and transfer all icon-containing folders there. The system will automatically adjust the locations so your desktop appears on the secondary drive.

The new motherboard and CPU are functioning properly. Windows 10 requested activation, but it didn’t proceed. Microsoft support advised purchasing a new license key.
