For eight years, I relied on my aging computer and a compact LG monitor connected by VGA, functioning flawlessly. My PlayStation 4 consistently performed well with its HDMI connection to the television – a similarly dependable setup. However, when I attempted to connect an HDMI cable directly from my PC to the TV instead of the PS4, it failed. I even acquired a new HDMI cable, yet the problem persisted. Despite constructing a completely renovated PC, this specific HDMI incompatibility with my LG television continues to frustrate me. It seems bizarre that the PS4 works without issue, leading me to suspect a monitor malfunction. Any suggestions or alternative solutions would be greatly appreciated.

The third page of the product’s digital handbook definitively indicates that the 15-pin D-Sub VGA (RGB) connector should be selected for connections to a personal computer.
This is crucial information to verify prior to purchasing a monitor when intending to link it up with a PC.

What's the exact model number of your LG TV? A lot of times for PC you have to use one specific HDMI port on the TV. If so it should specify which one in the TV manual.

This monitor, the LG FLATTRON M2262DP-PZ, features an RGB connection that allowed me to utilize a VGA cable from my previous computer and a single HDMI port, successfully connecting with my latest PlayStation 4. However, when connected to my newly constructed gaming PC, it fails to recognize the device, leading me to build a more robust computer system. Even this upgraded PC cannot establish a connection through HDMI, suggesting a potential issue with my television or monitor.

The older computer continues to function satisfactorily on the LG display using a VGA cable, and the PlayStation 4 operates smoothly alongside it. However, activating my new PC with an HDMI connection does not work, even after attempting to swap ports on the device itself – there was no change in result.
