At the workplace I prefer assigning a unique static IP address to each printer within the network. This allows for quick addition simply by typing its IP address in the Windows Printer Manager. Another possibility is that the incorrect drivers were installed.

Canon is clearly the poorest printer option since their software is poorly designed and full of issues. Reset your network settings from scratch and pray for success! P.S.: Did you know the manual mentions special steps to connect the printer via Wi-Fi? Some Canon models require specific instructions written inside the guide.
