Purchased a budget printer HP 3762 recently. It connected wirelessly and functioned properly initially. After a few prints it stopped working. After updating drivers and trying again, the problem persisted. Once files were sent directly over USB, printing took an unusually long time—several minutes. The user wants wireless functionality back but fears it would slow things down further. They noted the printer is not expensive and only handles light printing, expecting faster results via USB. Seeking advice on possible causes.

This printer should function smoothly on Linux Mint since HPLIP is available. Maybe attempt to boot from a USB drive into Mint and test printing immediately to confirm consistent behavior.

You're using Windows 10, right? It seems there might be a simpler way than switching operating systems when you need something printed quickly. It's frustrating when things are slow, especially with printers like yours. I know it can be tricky getting a new HP printer to work smoothly, especially with connectivity issues. If you're sending large files over a weak wireless connection, that definitely adds to the hassle.

This guide is for testing purposes only. No installation required—just boot from a USB drive. It helps confirm that your USB cable or printer operates normally at expected speeds in Linux. Useful for troubleshooting if you suspect issues with Windows.
