My printed documents have suddenly stopped being readable. It used to be fine, but now the text looks more transparent and gray than black. The sender details stay completely black, while the rest appears light gray. When I print them—especially for articles—the text is almost invisible. It seems the printer only sees what it displays on the screen. I’m wondering if I can make the main text appear in solid black again, or if I can force the printer to ignore different shades and print only pure black? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Copy/paste the email content here, adjust the formatting as needed, and save it. The file will be ready to print without any color issues.

Copy/paste the email text into a word processor, adjust the font color to black, save the document, and print it from the file. This resolves the color problem.

Cool, thanks it worked. Do we know why it's doing that though? It didn't used to be like this. As far as I can recall at least.

My prediction about the sender's effort (possibly unintentional) to prevent illegal copying or printing.
For example, if I simply copied and pasted a message in an email and then forwarded it, the letters would show up in dark blue instead of black (a known quirk of Gmail).
