I’d pay $150 if possible, $300 if needed. The main issue with the $800 price is that I also have to upgrade my GPU. I ran the SteamVR test—something I expected to fail—but it really stressed my system. It’s clear a Radeon HD 7770 isn’t VR Ready. Still, since I’m getting married this fall and weddings cost a lot, I’ll likely get to try Oculus soon, even with the office already ordering consumer versions.

It's more about the tech backing widespread use in top games than the cost of the equipment. When it becomes common in major titles, I’ll invest in a headset no matter the price.
