Hello! I just assembled a PC using some old parts for my younger brother. The power supply started making strange noises when turned on, like buzzing or loud sounds when you say certain words. The specs are: processor Intel Pentium G4400, GPU GTX 970, motherboard H110M PRO-VD PLUS. Someone can help me figure this out. Thanks!

Can you capture the sound? It might just be typical PSU coil whine. Does it sound similar?

What is the PSU? I worry it might pose a fire risk.

It seems like you're trying to share a file or message. The audio file "Keskasula.m4a" is attached. Let me know if you need further assistance!

This seems like someone who really loves the PSU. If you need the PC up right now, I’d just switch to another PSU or go ahead and replace the fan.

I'm not sure. The sound seemed to begin when I tried to install it, possibly due to a power loop. The smell wasn't from the PSU but from the storage device (HDD).

It doesn't seem to be that bad. Looks like a pretty intense PSU coil noise!

Absolutely, if I were you, I’d likely skip that right away—it shouldn’t be happening at all.
