I was starting to assemble a new PC for my but when I tried to power it up, the instant I switched the power supply on, it jumped and began smoking inside. Right away I disconnected the PSU cable from the outlet and to be honest I’m really worried about damaging any components on the motherboard. The PSU I have is a Gigabyte P650B, R7 5700g CPU, two 8GB DDR4 modules from HyperX Fury, plus a Kingston M.2 drive. I’m not sure what to do but I can confirm there were no sparks coming from the motherboard side—only from the PSU.

It seems like another issue with failing Gigabyte power supplies. The only options left are returning the product and praying it didn’t cause any further damage.
