I'm currently using the stock 3.5GHz processor on my system. I've been checking online for a while and noticed many users have upgraded their CPUs to get better performance. My GPU is an AMD Radeon 7770HD, which I consider to be quite average, so I'm considering upgrading it to an AMD Radeon 290 4GB. The question is, can I make minor changes to this processor on my motherboard?

This would significantly improve your setup and let you keep your existing RAM. Switching to Skylake demands DDR4 support.

No way. Avoid pushing the speed limit. You'll face constant slowing down. It might only hold at normal performance.

With that in mind, consider upgrading your motherboard if it's been two years. If you decide to change it, I can suggest some good options from Amazon.

What is your budget? I would switch to Intel if it's feasible. Even the i3 6100 would represent a significant improvement over the FX8320 in gaming.

Currently I have about £250 saved, and I can guide you through the right steps. (It seems you're asking about adjusting the system or just the processor.)

I'll check if I can place the order soon, as I'm busy with college.
Thank you for your feedback, it means a lot.
