I watched a video guide to lower ping, and everything seemed logical. However, once I applied the changes, my ping stayed high. When I reverted the adjustments, my ping didn’t return to normal.
Your connection frequency will keep shifting. It won't matter how strong your link is.
Check your router by sending a ping. Launch the Windows command prompt with admin privileges (for advanced options). You’ll be prompted whether to open as admin—click right-click in the search bar or select the Start menu button. Run the command ipconfig to view your IP address and gateway. The gateway is your Wi-Fi router or main network device. Use ping 192.168.1.1 to test connectivity; it displays latency and variability. If you see frequent delays, try multiple pings (e.g., ping -n 20). Disable timeout with -t to keep pinging until you stop the command. Note that website pings can fluctuate widely, so limit testing to a few sites and record results. Document any changes you made to settings.
