The i7 12th should quickly store a list each time you open the file. This issue isn’t happening, so I might have a fake processor from Amazon that’s affecting the caching. It seems like the AVI file is causing the problem.

It might be related to your hard drive capacity. Which SSD model are you using?

this nvme ssd is a 1 terabyte wd black boot drive, paired with a western digital hard drive that’s quite old. it supports ssllowww only for storage purposes. when i try to access it, issues usually appear—especially after switching to my newer nvme drives, which seem to resolve the problem.

Windows is struggling to retrieve all metadata from files without using the CPU. Change the folder setting to use "general" instead of media files to avoid this issue and achieve faster results.

Checking storage on my NVMe drives is extremely quick—just a few seconds—but with my 4TB HDD it lags at 40 seconds. The issue isn’t the processor; it’s the disk itself.

It cannot be NVMe because it performs exceptionally quickly. When I opened the hard drive icon, the NVMe became sluggish.

From the boot disk, the issue begins when I try the second slow drive, and then after switching back to the fast NVMe one, everything functions poorly.

In the folder properties, choosing broad options avoids collecting item-specific data and speeds up processing.
