The performance of my computer has decreased temporarily following initial boot-up.
My computer boots up rapidly, but afterward, when I attempt to play a game or simply open a Google Chrome window about five to ten minutes after startup, it becomes sluggish and unstable. During gameplay, specifically when I initiate a game and play a single round or match, the system performs smoothly, but it then reverts to its previous state. My machine is only a year old, and this issue is frustrating; I’m hoping to understand the cause and find a solution. Thank you for your assistance. P.S. – I have limited knowledge of technical computer language, so please use straightforward terms when explaining anything.
Turn off each feature individually by right-clicking them, then restart your computer to check if that resolves the issue. If it doesn’t work, re-enable those features one by one to see if they are the cause.
Providing a helpful response requires further details about the computer’s specifications. Currently, insufficient information prevents us from identifying potential issues effectively.
The smallest amount of data – even a minimal understanding – would allow us to assess whether a problem exists:
* The computer’s model name and a complete inventory of its hardware components.
* A list of all installed software, including any duplicate or multiple antivirus programs.
* Whether the issue is recent in onset or has been present since the computer was initially purchased.
Click the right mouse button on your taskbar and choose "Task Manager." Navigate to the “Startup” tab to examine which programs are launching when your computer starts Windows. Identify any items that are beginning automatically that you don’t require every time Windows is initiated.
I’ve set up several options within the “Startup” section, but I'm unsure about which ones are secure to turn off. Here’s a rundown of the currently active programs:
DellMobileConnectWelcome
Logitech Download Assistant
Microsoft OneDrive
Realtek HD Audio Manager
Waves MaxxAudio Service
Windows Security alerts
Delayed Launcher
HD Audio Background Process
Could you advise me on which of these I can safely disable?
Thank you very much!
To resolve your issue, attempt to turn off each feature individually by right-clicking and selecting "Disable." After doing this, restart your computer to check if the problem is resolved. If disabling a specific feature does not fix the issue, re-enable it and restart again.
