I just finished assembling a new build, without adding a GPU or HDD yet. Everything is brand new. My PC doesn’t seem to work unless I connect the PSU cables to the PSU tester (I’m not sure how to interpret this). Once connected, the fans spin up, the water cooler lights turn on, etc. But nothing happens when I press the power button or try to jump the pins with a screwdriver that works on another build. Got any suggestions? Also, I removed the motherboard battery for a few minutes and put it back in—still nothing.

It seems the motherboard might be defective. Have you confirmed it thoroughly, including verifying the correct pins for the power button?
