Hello, I just performed a factory reset on my PC without saving any files. When I first booted Windows, the system froze and the mouse stopped responding. Since then, these issues have occurred unpredictably, sometimes for days and other times within the same hour. I can still hear audio briefly after freezing, but once it stops, the audio freezes too, creating a buzzing noise. I haven’t been able to reproduce the freezing consistently.

Specs:
Windows 10
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
Memory: 16384MB RAM
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
Available OS Memory: 16314MB RAM
Page File: 13475MB used, 8214MB free

Do you have XMP activated? (This refers to the AMD equivalent of XMP)

If the PC freezes during these tests, consider swapping RAM—start with one stick and then another (assuming you have two 8GB sticks), or replace it entirely. Based on my experience, the problem was likely with the GPU, so hopefully yours isn't affected.

You just ran Furmark on your GPU and it started blackscreening at high temperatures, something you haven't experienced before. Consider whether to keep using Furmark or explore other stress-testing methods that might be more efficient.

Furmark can be useful for stress testing your GPU. Consider changing RAM sticks or using a different one if possible. Parts of the GPU may become excessively hot, causing undervolting to shut it down to protect itself (best case), RAM failure (acceptable scenario), or complete GPU failure (worst case). Re-run the test and monitor voltage, clock speeds, and temperatures together. Use HWINFO64 for detailed insights in one window. If the GPU rapidly drops voltage and cools down near 79-80°C, some components are overheating and may stop working. Hwinfo64 collects data from various sensors to identify which part is overheating most. Check the Event Viewer for Event ID and any "Memory access violation" errors.
