Sorry to share yet another of these, but I've already gone through the standard troubleshooting steps and now I'm looking for alternative solutions. This is my last build from nine years ago, so I suspect there might be something I overlooked. Thank you for your support!
I just finished the build described below, but when trying to boot, no display appears. The power LED lights up, all fans are spinning, yet I don’t see any BIOS screen or output on my monitor. I’m going to go through everything I’ve already tried:
I double-checked my power cables – 8-pin CPU connector at the top of the board, 24-pin on the side, and two 8-pin PCIe connectors for the GPU. Everything seems properly connected.
I’ve tested various monitors and display cables, including HDMI and DisplayPort types. I plugged them into the GPU and even directly into the motherboard with the GPU removed.
My RAM has been reinserted and I’ve tried using a single stick in different slots, following the placement instructions on the motherboard.
I updated the BIOS using a flash drive via the Q-Flash Plus button on the board, as per the manual. It was my first time doing this, but it seemed to work based on some videos. I renamed the file, waited for the light to blink until shutdown, and everything went smoothly.
I also reset the CMOS battery again, sticking closely to the steps in the motherboard manual.
Currently, the GPU isn’t working, the monitor is powered on, and the PC is running, but both RAM sticks are back in their slots according to the manual, and the monitor is connected via HDMI – still no display signal. What should I do next?
even though it seems improbable, it could happen. if you manage to get a spare mobo, try it out with your equipment.
Hey! Yeah, I really didn’t want to be part of those unanswered threads. Actually, I swapped the Gigabyte motherboard for an Asrock, and it all worked on the first boot. The original Gigabyte was defective right out of the box.
