I think this could be related to handling too many background processes, but I wanted to confirm. Playing League of Legends on Discord causes my game to lag, and my PC is slow. I own an RX 580 Series, i5 3400X, and 16GB RAM. I’m not sure why the system runs so much slower, despite updating Windows, Radeon drivers, and checking Device Manager.

Hello,
It seems your system has been slow consistently or recently. Are you using a laptop or desktop? Also, could you confirm if the i5 3400x is indeed your processor?

It has been successful for some time, and I'm confident it's my CPU. I'll verify again when I get home later.
