The PC setup isn't starting properly.
I've been assembling my PC for roughly three years and it's almost finished. But there are problems with my motherboard (B550 AORUS PRO) or my power supply (thermal take 600W). Every time I try to boot, it fails to draw power. My motherboard's RGB lights flicker briefly before cutting out, and the power supply fan doesn't start. I've tested the PSU—it works when I short-circuit it but not when connected to the board. I don’t have a CPU; I need to update the BIOS to run a 5000-series ProSSER. I already talked about the motherboard with everyone else. I think I should have said this—I’m just trying to upgrade my BIOS so I can use a 5000 series ProSSER. I know I don’t need a CPU for the update, and I’m not planning to run anything.
When you say 4th gen are you referring to 5000 series? Because it's a bit confusing, AMD stopped using the term "generation" to official describe their products, and the fact that the 4000 series did come out but it was OEM only... Bleh. "Series" is the easiest way, if not the name of the exact CPU itself that you plan on using. Anyways, as the others have said: No CPU, no computer worky.
I already have everything ready for Q Flash, but I’m looking for someone more experienced who can activate the motherboard. I’ve seen many videos showing people flash their BIOS using just the motherboard and power supply, but my board isn’t turning on at all.
Avoid using Q-Flash directly. Instead, use the dedicated Q-Flash Plus button on the motherboard. It will power itself automatically (if the PSU is connected and functioning) and flash the file from a USB drive. Search for a tutorial on YouTube to guide you through the process if needed.
