I just built my first PC. It's been running for a couple of days, but booting takes a while. I have an MSI B650 gaming plus with Wi-Fi and 32 GB Vengeance DDR5 6000MHz RAM. I also have an ASUS Dual 4060 Ti OC. So far everything seems fine. But I'm having trouble finding some missing Windows registry files, which makes me think my Windows might be corrupted. For instance, Spotify isn't working properly, though other apps are fine. I also had to manually adjust my RAM speed to 6000 because the motherboard set it lower, around 4200.
I’ll use a timer to check how long it takes. Take a screenshot of the startup time. Just because it feels slow doesn’t mean it’s wrong—sometimes it’s normal. Thanks!
I recorded a time measurement on my phone which lasted 48 seconds, with 30 of those seconds dedicated to the screen receiving signal (after the VGA LED lit up). The remaining time was used to launch windows. My system's BIOS in Task Manager displays 40 seconds. You’ve been trying to remove or disable several programs like MSI Center, Discord, etc. MSI Center is often linked to performance problems, so I wouldn’t want it on my system. It’s important to systematically go through each app and service that runs in the background, especially those not essential for the OS. Pairing these with an underdeveloped platform can lead to slow startup times. This should help you identify the real cause—likely a software issue rather than hardware.
It's completely feasible, just reinstall and avoid installing any other apps except Steam, then check if the problems continue. (If this doesn't resolve the issue)
I restored my BIOS to defaults and the clock dropped to around 20 seconds. It seems I’m stuck with 4200MHz RAM. Regarding MSI Center, it feels like bloatware, but there might be alternatives to manage RGB fans without using the NZXT cam since I don’t have a hub.
this was exactly what I expected from the start... yes, you'll have to accept that for now. future updates might improve the memory situation, but who knows? And indeed, the MSI center is just as bloated as the NZXT Cam. You should be able to adjust your fan curves in the BIOS, though. If you have an AIO, you're stuck with 100% pump/fan speeds—or use the bloatware that's been around for a while. Honestly, I wouldn't want this garbage on my system because the potential problems are too high. Maybe a fan control solution would work, but I'm not sure yet.
