The PC receives power yet there is no signal from the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and other devices.
Yesterday i stopped working and shut down my pc using windows. Now it’s getting powered on but none of the devices are responding. It seems like the usb fan, rgb lights, and maybe other ports are working, but the keyboard and monitors aren’t showing any activity. The connections are via usb-a, hdmi, and display port cables, so it’s unlikely there’s an issue with the motherboards or usb ports. Any suggestions? Could the power supply unit be the cause?
This seems like the motherboard isn't responding at all. The best first step is a complete cold restart—disconnect the power cable from the back of the PSU and let it sit for a few minutes so everything can discharge. After that, reconnect it and try again; I've seen this fix similar problems on my Ryzen setup. If the issue persists, you might want to remove one of the memory modules (make sure they're properly seated), verify the graphics card is connected correctly, and ensure the PCIe power cable is fully inserted. Clearing the CMOS setting (using a jumper or button on the motherboard) could also help, then attempt to boot once more. It would be helpful to know the make and model of your motherboard.
Thanks for your message. It seems the issue might be related to the CMOS battery or the motherboard setup. For your Asus TUF B450M-plus, consider checking if the CMOS battery is properly installed and functioning. If problems persist, you may need to remove or replace it. Also, ensure all connections are secure, especially with the screwdriver used for the pins.
It seems the only alternative I recommend is to boot the machine using just the essential parts. Turn off all RGB lights, remove the SSD, take out all but one memory module, keep only the power supply, motherboard, CPU, and graphics card. Test if the system starts, even without a keyboard or mouse connected, just the monitor. If it fails, switch to the other memory module. If this doesn't work, you'll need a different machine to test components individually.
That worked well. Thank you very much for your assistance! Everything else was disconnected except the keyboard, and it started working once the lights on the keyboard turned on. Now I'm 100% confident the PSU is the issue, but I'll test it next week just to be sure. I still have warranty coverage for the PSU, so it should help.
But thank you dearly!
