I was playing Days Gone until my PC shut down on its own. After restarting, I launched the game and it shut down again. I thought the thermal paste was dry and applied more, but the CPU still overheated. Once re-applied, the PC kept cycling on and off briefly. I’ve already replaced the RAM and removed the CMOS battery. I only checked the power supply and the fan spun. What could be causing this issue?

Check the CPU pins... AMD with AM4 and AM3 when you remove the cooler some times the cpus come off the socket and bend some pins... you can use a syringe needle (sand it become flat) to straight pins if got some damage!

I've looked into the CPU, it seems there are no bend pins present.

look for any signs of a short circuit, check the ram's position, then clean and reinsert
