I’ve been using my PC for several years, with the latest upgrade being December 2022. I’ve encountered issues where the system wouldn’t boot in May, which was resolved by disabling C-state in the BIOS. Recently, over the past week, my computer would freeze when idle, and the only solution was a hard reboot. The main error detected in the Event Viewer was a kernel power issue (version 41). The problem was fixed temporarily for about a day by updating power settings or graphics drivers. After restarting, the PC would either freeze or restart itself within roughly two minutes. I attempted to replace everything except the CPU, changed power strips and outlets, checked connections, performed a hard reset of Windows, and verified files (sfc and chkdsk). Currently, when I boot into Windows, I can use the setup for a few minutes (until I need to create a PIN), after which it either freezes (about 70% of the time) or restarts (30% of the time). I considered updating the BIOS, but it froze during verification right before installation, so I decided not to try again. Running the PC in BIOS extended my boot time slightly (around 5–7 minutes), after which it would freeze and the motherboard would display the “boot” light. Once booted into Windows, no codes appear on the board. During freezing, USB devices would turn off and then back on briefly upon reconnection. Temperatures in BIOS were normal (~40°C), and GPU temperatures remained stable before the Windows reset.

I believe this code relates to power input or power faults, where sometimes a failing PSU causes computers to freeze and restart. Temperatures are normal, the GPU rarely causes issues, and a 1000W PSU seems sufficient for a 3090. The main suspect appears to be the power supply unit. You might test components by removing the GPU and using a Ryzen 9 5900x to check for freezing, trying one RAM at a time, etc.
Power supply wasn't the problem since I could get the same outcomes using another spare supply I located. I'll now re-test the ram and reinsert the cpu.
