Why won't you connect to some people? Sorry – I had to do it for you. Letting go of all the silly jokes, there could be an issue with the router or modem. Also, check that the power line adapter is still properly connected to the Wi-Fi. If it’s been hanging around for a while, it might just drop out, which is what happened to me.
The problem likely lies with the Ethernet adapter on your computer. It's possible the drivers aren't installed. You may need to download the appropriate drivers from another device and transfer them using a flash drive to your machine. If the system can't detect an adapter, it probably isn't the power line adapter but rather the actual Ethernet card.
