CPU model: i3-10105f
Cooler: boxed currently
Motherboard: H510m s2h v3 rev1
RAM: 16gb
Storage: SSD/HDD
GPU: rx 580
Power supply: Bequiet 500w
Operating system: Linux
I wanted to turn on secure boot again. From the BIOS description, I had to create a ... key manager/password? I completely forgot the name of the key—just below the secure boot options, with the authentication key and all.
As soon as I set that key to default and tried to save and reboot, I couldn’t start up anymore. No display, no logo, just “no signal.”
Can’t boot at all.
- 5 beeps (looks like a CPU error)
- I noticed the quick “wind up” of the CPU fans right after startup is very subtle and not as strong as usual.
I’ve tried: resetting CMOS, battery, and pins multiple times. The motherboard is only about a month old, basically brand new.
Installed a different PSU, GPU, mainboard, and CPU cooler.
Checked each RAM stick in its slot separately.
Tried booting without any external devices connected.
Attempted to boot via USB while the SSD was unplugged.
Switched HDMI and DP cables, changed PSU cable(s).
Unplugged all cables one night and discharged by pressing Power On for a minute.
I never overclocked my CPU and only did office work for months. How likely is it I just damaged my CPU from a simple mainboard setting?
