The PC is freezing up in games, and you might hear weird beep-beep noises coming from your headphones.
Here are the steps to check your PC power and fix random freezes:
1) Check if your BIOS shows +3.3V, +5V, and +12V working right. If not, look at the manual or hardware monitor page to find where these voltages should be. You can also visit this link for voltage tolerance info.
2) Try running MemTest86 one memory stick at a time to make sure RAM isn't causing issues. Get it from that link.
3) If you changed your graphics card before, try uninstalling the old drivers with DDU and then reinstalling the new ones. You can download this tool here. This helps if your CPU, GPU, power supply, or drivers are overheating or broken, which could cause the PC to freeze while playing games.
1) Check if there are +3.3V, +5V, and +12V on the motherboard's BIOS. You might need to read a manual or look at hardware monitors to see where these voltages come from. Also check this link for voltage tolerances: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/insidethep...erance.htm 2) Try running RAM tests one by one using MemTest86 here: http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm 3) If you switched to a newer GPU before, try uninstalling the old drivers with DDU first (link: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/disp...nload.html), then reinstall them. This is because if your CPU or GPU gets too hot, bad power supplies, faulty RAM, or driver issues can cause the PC to freeze when playing games.
Hi there, I made this account just to say thank you. Tip number three helped me: uninstall the GPU drivers and then reinstall them again. IT WORKS!!! I tried everything else too. Like clean Windows install, update my BIOS (and it wouldn't even see my hard drive which was a big headache), run benchmarks or memtest... nothing worked except this tip on number three. Thank you Cin19! You are the best ❤️
