I'll keep sharing what I've done here in case someone finds it later.
All times EST:
FEB 4, 2025, 10:55AM
Changed power supply idle control to "typical current idle"
2/4/25 12:41PM
Stuck on clicking settings in Dolphin.
FEB,4 2025: 1:40PM
processor.max_cstate=1
In grub menu.
FEB, 4, 2025, 1:45PM
Returned RAM to OC 3600 XMP profile (noticed on Reddit that might help)
FEB 4, 2025, 2:00PM
Added nvidia drivers.
Freezes since 12:41PM: 0
Notes, any issues with Ryzen on Linux?
https://www.google.com/search?q=amd...Z_...=917&dpr=2

I noticed some issues with the hard drive that was malfunctioning. It has been disconnected for a while.

We addressed half of the issue, but the other part depends on the advanced CPU configuration.
Detailed steps are provided below:
Use the Gigabyte AM4 motherboard and enter BIOS by pressing "Delete" during startup. Move to the "Tweaker" area, then proceed to "Advanced CPU Settings." There you’ll find the "Turbo Power Limits" feature to configure your desired temperature cap. Typically, you must turn this on and modify the "Package Power Limit" settings to establish your target temperature threshold.

Key points:
- Check your motherboard manual for precise BIOS settings.
- Be aware that exceeding the limit will cause thermal throttling, which lowers performance to protect the CPU.

Beyondlogic, I'll handle that during the next reboot or freeze. It's been about 8 hours up time so far. Hope it lasts longer!
I'm using a 7 heat pipe cooler and three fans connected to it.
Can you see how my setup looks or what I'm working with?

My CPU setup includes the deepcool model detailed at the provided link, featuring an adjustable extra fan clip. Additional cooling solutions are available on Amazon, with options such as the Arctic P12 slim PWM fan and the Cooler Master MasterAir MA824 stealth cooler. For further alternatives, water cooling is suggested as a viable choice.

Thanks! Good news is the machine stayed up all night. Got about 24 hours of uptime compared to 10minutes. Victory!
Bad news is my CPU idle temp is around 55-60c (not good, right?). I see what you're saying, BeyondLogic.
This is my case:
https://www.newegg.com/fractal-desi...-t...6811352087
The current CPU cooler has actually broken 2 tempered glass sides... The CPU fan was pressing into the glass and made it weak over time causing it to shatter.
If I go with a new cooler I'd probably also need a bigger case... Any cases off the top of your head that you'd recommend? Full size towers, maybe?

mmmm, that's interesting.
Based on the Fractal specs, the case allows for CPU coolers up to 170mm, but the cooler you mentioned (Noctua NH-U12S SE-AM4) is only 158mm tall.

Why did this cooler fail with two glass panels? Perhaps the fan is misaligned with the heatsink due to RAM clearance problems?
Could you provide more details? If this is true, it might result in significantly reduced CPU cooling efficiency.

Well, now I'm curious if the fan knobs really made contact with the tempered glass.
I think after securing the tempered glass onto the case, the heat sink's "knobs" were slightly pushing into the glass, which might have weakened its structure.
I attempted to remove the glass twice and it broke both times.

That's what I'm confused about. If the case allows a maximum height of 170mm for the CPU cooler and the heatsink (including heatpipes knobs) is 158mm, there should be enough space to fit it. But in the photos I'm looking at on my phone—which aren't perfect—I see some gaps between the cooler and the side panel, which makes me wonder why it broke so easily. Could it be a small design flaw with the case?

It's hard to say for sure. I'd probably have to purchase another tempered glass and check it out. Small geometry problems might exist but they wouldn't be noticeable without a closer look.
Still, if I'm thinking about replacing my CPU fan, I'll likely also consider getting a new case. Just to be extra cautious.
