your psu is still brand new, only three months old. it's a silverstone st50f and you seem fine with the load—your specs look solid: an a8 6600k at 4.2ghz, gigabyte ga f2a68hm s1.2x4gb ddr3, 1.55v from cl11-cl9, gt 1030, 240gb ssd, hitachi 1tb hdd, and a random cheap case. deepcool ice edge mini fs v2 is all set. you mentioned not being rich but not poor, and you’re okay with your current setup. it’s nice you shared the details about your dvm—no need to stress over it. we do have a soldering iron nearby, though I don’t have much money for upgrades like a custom keyboard or a new gpu. so i’m not planning to learn anything yet.
Rich? My machine is a bit outdated and doesn’t match your setup much in terms of performance. Still it works fine and is quite dependable, maybe because it uses Linux. It also has the same SSD as yours. What do you mean by soldering the keyboard? You probably don’t need a soldering iron for that. A bespoke keyboard? What’s the reason? Regarding shutdowns, have you tried unplugging it, waiting a few seconds, then plugging it back in to see if it restarts? In short, is it shutting down correctly? If not, it won’t power on and will stay off.
