Hi everyone, today my last PC part (power supply) arrived and I installed it with my motherboard. After connecting everything, the PC doesn’t turn on at all. No fans spin, no lights on the board, nothing happens. Initially I assumed the PSU was broken. Then I tried a paper clip test which worked, so it wasn’t that either. Next I checked the front panel connectors and removed the case cables, trying to jump start the board with a screwdriver as per the manual. Still nothing. It seems the motherboard isn’t getting power from the PSU. Could it be a faulty board? The build went smoothly without big problems, so I’m not sure. I also changed RAM sticks one by one and tried different positions, but nothing worked. No start at all. Here’s what I have: Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3400G (with stock cooler) RAM: G.SKILL 32GB Aegis DDR4 3200MHz CL16 KIT (2 x 16GB) SSD: SAMSUNG 512GB 970 PRO M.2 PCIe M.2 PSU: CORSAIR TX650M CASE: CoolerMaster MasterBox MB511. It seems like a hardware problem. Usually, boards light up right after the PSU is connected. Try removing the board and testing it in a different location, using the box as a support.
I removed them several times and confirmed they work perfectly.
The system will likely fail to boot or operate properly. Removing RAM or the CPU usually causes hardware issues and prevents functionality.
I also tried that, but nothing happened. It could be that I was really unlucky and the board was out of stock. I might consider finding a replacement.
Consider using the most recent stable BIOS update as a final option, then proceed with an RMA if the issue persists.
