I assembled my first PC yesterday. It worked perfectly, launching straight into BIOS. I adjusted the configurations and connected the Windows USB (the ready boot drive), but during installation Windows reported missing files. I made a fresh one, yet the machine starts but only displays a black screen. It no longer boots from USB or enters BIOS. The CPU and RAM indicators flash during startup, then turn off once it runs, though overall it seems to operate normally. I don’t have a photo and can’t install Windows or access BIOS. Hardware details: B650 Tomahawk Wifi 7800xt Ryzen 5 7600x

Reset CMOS by disconnecting the battery from the motherboard for 30 seconds. Alternatively, access the boot menu and press F11 during startup to display a boot option.

Pressing [Del] intensely repeatedly at the beginning of the startup process is common.

The LEDs are meant to illuminate during startup and then shut off at a certain point, which is typical. You might want to reset the CMOS as others recommend. Additionally, USB drives can be unpredictable with Windows boot media—consider using a different drive until you find one that works. If you have an older USB2 stick, it may be more reliable. They tend to cause fewer issues based on experience. Good luck!

Clearing the BIOS got it running, and switching to another USB worked well for Windows! Thanks all. My computer is now operating smoothly!
