The PC fails to start beyond the BIOS setup.
I recently replaced my MSI cooler and received a new one, but after reinstalling the device I’m stuck on the BIOS screen with a bright yellow boot light. The motherboard seems to detect all plugged-in components during EZ mode on my B550-F, yet it doesn’t recognize a boot drive. I’m almost ready to discard this PC since it’s been a full day of troubleshooting—any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
1. What are your complete system details?
2. Was the device functioning prior to this issue?
3. Have you attempted a CMOS reset?
4. What steps have you taken thus far?
Ensure all external drives are removed except the system boot drive. This can resolve occasional issues, though the reason isn't always clear.
Rog strix 550-F Ryzen 5600x Gigabyte RTX 2070 16 GB DDR4 3000 Corsair vengeance ram 1TB M.2 M.VM (boot drive) 500 GB Kingston SSD 1TB western digital blue HDD It functioned properly before. I sent in my AIO and installed the stock cooler while waiting, it worked then. I removed the battery for five minutes while re-seating the CPU to ensure it cleared. I re-seated the CPU, re-mounted the M.2, tested both RAM sticks individually, unplugged and plugged back in the SATA cables, but it still boots from the M.2.
I had been using this computer smoothly for the past couple of years, even during the week when I installed the stock cooler, though now it fails to boot into Windows after setting up the AIO.
