I have an issue with a second-hand graphics card I recently purchased. When I tested it in my environment, everything functioned perfectly. However, after replacing my old card with the new one at home, the computer failed to boot and displayed a "no signal found" message on my monitor. When I reinserted the previous card, the system started working again (RX 580 8GB). The graphics card I bought is an Asus GeForce RTX 3090 Tuf Gaming. My PC specifications are: CPU - Ryzen 5 5600X, Motherboard - MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus. I've already updated the BIOS, and upon turning on the PC with the new card installed, the VGA indicator remains lit. Current hardware includes a Gigabyte RX 580 8GB, Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB RAM, an M.2 NVMe SSD, a Liquid Cooler Freezer II 280 PSU, and a Corsair RM750 power supply. I'm using an HDMI cable for the connection, and I've connected two separate 6+2 pin power connectors directly from the PSU, filling all available slots on the GPU. I double-checked the connections, but they still didn't work. I've also tried connecting both GPUs to test booting, but neither succeeded. I'm unsure what might be causing this problem—could be user error, a potential damage during transport, or incompatibility with the RTX 3090. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I recommend removing the outdated driver for the AMD card first—RX580 is indeed their GPU. Also consider deleting AMD Adrenalin. Once that’s done, use a soft cloth or thin towel to gently clean the interface (or the new card’s connection). If you’re already connected and the PC boots but the monitor still displays “no signal,” the issue likely lies with the card itself.
Enable "Resizable Bar" and "Above 4G Decoding" in the settings.
I have removed the drivers with DDU and thoroughly cleaned the connector, but it didn’t resolve the issue. I plan to attempt this again now.
It seems it was already activated, which means it won't function as intended.
Consider alternative options:
1) Verify your monitor input source—possibly switched to DisplayPort or similar, just check and confirm HDMI connection.
2) Test a different HDMI port on the RTX 3090.
3) Use a DisplayPort cable instead.
4) IMPORTANT* Check if you need a different power supply; 750W might be sufficient, but Nvidia recommends at least 850W for this GPU. Ask the seller about the PSU used to ensure compatibility.
I confirmed the source was set to HDMI 2. I tested both HDMI ports but nothing worked. Right now, I don’t have a display port cable available, and without any other power supplies I can’t confirm the issue. I believe it’s best to take it to a repair shop for a checkup just to verify the card functions properly. Appreciate your advice.
