Hello,
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
MOBO: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite
RAM: 32GB 4x8GB Kingston
GPU: 1660 Super
Storage: Crucial P3, Kingston SSD
PSU: LYNX ATX-500WA-87

My PC has been running for over three months. After two days away, I returned and found a loud noise when turning it on, similar to a stuck cable. Upon inspection, there was no cable present. When I tried to power it again, the display remained off. The MOBO indicated a red CPU light. The front panel power button works initially but fails to respond once held, which should shut down the PC (it did for the first boot).

I attempted various fixes: using only one RAM stick, repositioning and resetting the CPU, clearing CMOS by removing pins, reconnecting cables, and unplugging the HDD and CD-ROM drive. I’m now very concerned and seeking advice on possible issues.

Do you believe this could happen even though the motherboard lights up and the PC starts? I initially assumed it would be possible since the loud noise wouldn’t be coming from the GPU, and both fans spinning and the CPU fan working normally make sense. That’s why I thought the power supply might have failed. Could it be delivering insufficient power or providing the wrong amount?

there might be cases where psus don't perform at their full capacity under certain conditions, like using another psu with similar wattage nearby. Try it and observe the results.

I won't do it, I'll purchase a new one tomorrow and send it back if it doesn't work, thanks for the idea.
