I connect the SATA power cable to the HDD, then turn on the PC but it doesn’t start. After removing the SATA power cable, the PC boots up fine. Anyone have suggestions? My system specs are an EVGA GQ 650 80+ gold motherboard, ROG B450F, Ryzen 5 2600X, and an EVGA GTX 1660 Super.

The situation suggests a grounding problem. Check if pressing the power button triggers a brief start before immediate shutdown. If no response occurs, examine whether the SATA power cable might be interfering with the button wiring.

The RGB lights up the fans like a half rotation, then stop, but the system still won’t boot. I switched to a different HDD and got the same outcome; I also changed the SATA power cable.
