When I power on the PC, it doesn’t respond to the power button unless I shut down the PSU and hold the button for about ten seconds. Once that’s done, the system reacts briefly, the motherboard lights up for a moment, fans spin for a second, and there’s a loud clicking sound from the PSU. With my IT cousin’s help, we disassembled the whole machine and checked everything except swapping out the CPU, motherboard, or PSU since I don’t have spare parts at home. Using a multimeter and connecting the green and black cables to the PSU confirmed it provides the correct voltage. There seems to be no immediate fix without purchasing new components, especially given my limited budget. The PC is under a year old, hand-built. It does boot but in an unpredictable way. Here are the specs: Asus ROG Strix B550-F Gaming Wi-Fi II, AMD Ryzen 3600 M-series, Intel i7-8700K, MSI GeForce RTX 3050, 8 GB RAM, Gigabyte P750GM (750 W, 80+ Gold), Samsung 500 GB SSD (boot drive), and a 1 TB HDD (WD Blue).

Ensures the power supply is disconnected before you try to boot again. It displays a warning then stops immediately, suggesting a power issue. Testing voltage without a load only shows part of the situation. The motherboard performs multiple checks before starting the boot process. You won’t see post or error codes. It seems the PWR_OK wire isn’t shorting and triggering shutdown. If it’s a new PSU, you can return it for repair; otherwise, order a replacement. This is my recommendation before seeking alternatives.
