I purchased a Ryzen 5 5600X and previously had a Ryzen 5 2600 before switching to the 5600X. When I played games like Rust or Escape from Tarkov, my PC would crash instantly. I realized my Corsair Vengeance 550 wasn’t providing enough power. After a few days, I upgraded to a Corsair RPM 750 2019 edition PSU. Then, with the new power supply, I could play games without heavy CPU or GPU strain. However, when I started playing Escape from Tarkov (with the updated PSU), it crashed after just two minutes. After trying to update BIOS and adjusting voltage settings, it finally stabilized at 1.28175. I’m concerned the Ryzen 5600X might not be getting enough power now. It’s currently running fine, but I’d like to keep it or send it back for a replacement. The system is stable with the GPU GTX 1070 and EVGA SC, and the motherboard is Asrock Steel Legend X570 BIOS v3.5. RAM is Corsair Vengeance 16GB at 3000MHz.

Recent bios updates? I ran a CPU stress test with Cinebench. Stock configurations? You can tweak the voltage if needed.

My CPU was initially at 4.3GHz, I increased it to 4.6 and everything worked fine. The Cinebench test passed, but during Heaven it would fail unless I ran Cinebench again. When playing games, it would enter a reboot loop with a black screen before restarting.

Are you sure it's just a game? Have you tried restoring to default settings while keeping XMP enabled?

I haven't checked yet, but the issue keeps appearing even after I did that. Should I return the CPU or keep using the increased voltage?

You're pushing the limits, so stability isn't assured. You'll need to tweak your chip for that specific overclock, since stock settings won't work. If it crashes, it's a bad chip—return it if you're sending it back just because you can't get it right. It's not ethical, but you have to follow the rules.

I didn't have the OC, and it crashed during stock mode. When I booted into the game, it would fail, but adding voltage kept it running fine. Probably needs more testing today—Cinebench stock works perfectly, but in-game stock causes crashes.

Restarted the CMOS, then activated XMP if it’s causing issues with default settings. It seems there might be compatibility problems or hardware faults. Checking for BIOS updates could help. Also, updating the PCIe generation to 3.0 in the BIOS should resolve the issue.
